Heartland of America

Foggy morning
Well we are travelling slowly down the various rivers towards the Gulf of Mexico. If you look at the map it appears that we were in the heart of the USA.  It's starting to be prettier here, with the undulating hills.  The water is clearer and we almost feel like jumping in.  The people are friendly here too.

We spent a week in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.  It was a chance to rest, clean the boat and visit the area. From there we visited Nashville and that was fun as per my last post.

Green Turtle Bay Resort

Grand Rivers is a nice village. We stayed at a resort and they had everything in a picturesque setting.  I was able to take long walks. We ate well, made friends, did some shopping. They had their Harvest Moon Festival.  Parade, vendors, food and free concert.

I saw four deers on one walk at the resort.  Here's a curious one.

Had to detour past these two geese while enjoying another walk.

When we left, we anchored three nights to get to the next lock. Dry Fork Creek, Lick Creek and Wolf Island. Anchorages means the barbecue is out. It's nice to eat well.   We have seen  many bald Eagles flying over us. Our friends saw deers and a wolf.  Also fog pictures.  It seems to be a natural occurance now as the weather changes.

In just one night, look at my bike!
Must be this guy...

Today we have another road trip planned, so we tell you all about it soon!

We have travelled on Barkley Lake, Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River. Here's our map so far.
